Pablo González
Born in Mexico City, Pablo earned a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University
and immediately thereafter joined Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Since 1998 he has
worked for Kimberly-Clark de México (KCM), first as Marketing Director of the Infant
Care Business, then from 2000 to 2005 as Director of the Consumer Products Businesses,
and from 2005 to 2007 as Deputy Managing Director. On April 1st. 2007 he was appointed
CEO of KCM, a consumer products company with sales of more than U.S. $2 billion
and a market leader in the categories in which it participates. He is a member of
the Board of Directors of América Móvil, the leading provider of wireless services
in Latin América, and of Acciones y Valores Banamex Casa de Bolsa, Mexico´s leading
brokerage firm. Also, he is a member of the International Board of Trustees of The
Brookings Institution, one of the most influential think-tanks of the United States.
Further, he is a founding partner of Mexicanos Primero, a nonprofit organization
which strives to prioritize and significantly improve education in Mexico by, among
others, influencing and determining public policy, and is the President of the Mexico
City Board of UNETE, a nonprofit institution whose purpose is to bring technology
to public schools by installing “computer centers”, training teachers and supervisors
in their use, and providing subsequent support. At the present he is President of
the Consejo de la Comunicación, an organization whose purpose is to be the voice
of the business community with regards to some of Mexico´s most important issues.
